Rachel Joy Baribeau Returns to Alabama to Inspire Through Faith, Resilience, and Anti-Bullying Initiatives
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 5, 2024 – Rachel Joy Baribeau, an award-winning author, speaker, and mental health coach, is returning to her roots in Alabama this week. The Pell City native will make impactful stops in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, sharing her message of faith, overcoming addiction, and finding a path to joy. Through sharing her personal experiences, Baribeau aims to inspire and uplift individuals of all backgrounds.
Baribeau’s first appearance will be on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Birmingham’s Lovelady Center, a Christian women’s halfway house she has visited for more than a decade. Known for her powerful testimony, Baribeau will speak to women who are reclaiming their lives after battling addiction and other challenges.
"My heart is so full to return to the state that helped to raise me. So many people I hold dear are in this state,” Baribeau said. “My hope is that my message of radical vulnerability, faith, soul-care, anti-bullying, and a focus on mental health will be something that not only stays with them for a long time but changes their daily actions and eventually their entire legacy."
On Thursday morning, Baribeau will continue her mission at Tuscaloosa County High School, addressing the entire student body. Her keynote will focus on finding one's passion, standing against bullying, and prioritizing mental health. As an advocate for young people, Baribeau believes in equipping students with tools to navigate the unique pressures of today’s world.
“I am overjoyed to connect with different groups, from those struggling with addiction to our young, impressionable minds at a high school close to my heart, and finally, to parents and community leaders alike at the 9th Annual Bama Against Bullying Fashion Show Fundraiser,” Baribeau said. She will return to Tuscaloosa on Sunday evening, serving as the keynote speaker at the citywide Bama Against Bullying event.
With each stop, Baribeau hopes to leave a lasting impact, reminding Alabamians that even in the hardest moments, there’s always a way forward and a reason to keep reaching for joy. For media inquiries, please contact Meghen Peck at meghenpeck@gmail.com.
